Abstract
Danish Gallup Omnibus Data 1962, Part 2 comprises 8 of the 28 omnibus surveys carried out by the Danish Gallup Institute in 1962. #In the months January to April, the Danish Gallup Institute carried out approximately one omnibus survey per week, but starting in May the frequency was changed to one omnibus survey per month. This part contains the last 8 monthly omnibus surveys, whereas the first 20 weekly surveys are found in DDA-0254: Danish Gallup Omnibus Data 1962, Part 1. # #Each survey contains a number of demographic variables common to all the surveys of that year, as well as a number of questions dealing with topical events. This data material contains information from all the omnibuses concerning the questions common to them. # #The questions common to all 1962 omnibuses are: #Urbanization by geographical region; sex; age; marital status; occupation of the respondent; form of salary; income of the respondent; income of the family; occupation of the head of household; education; composition of household; social group; type of home; possession of garden or weekend cottage; radio habits; Radio Merkur; and party preference. # #The special questions deal with such issues as: # #Omnibus no. 05 (DDA-1263): #Denmark's role in, membership of and contributions to NATO; assessment of the Government's performance; the Danish tax burden compared with other Western European countries; the leading Danish actor and actress; attitude to increase in income compared with other income groups; and living standards. # #Omnibus no. 06 (DDA-1264): #Radio in household; Radio Merkur; attitude to owner-occupied flats; preferred politician as Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and Minister of Finance; attitudes to subsidizing agriculture/the farming sector; attitude to a reduction of the number of farms; pocket money to children and size of the allowance; and report cards money. # #Omnibus no. 07 (DDA-1265): #Assessment of the Government's performance; consultation with a nature healer and type of treatment; and possession of and reading of the Bible. # #Omnibus no. 08 (DDA-1266): #Housing expenses; number of rooms in the dwelling; swimming skill; knowledge of artificial respiration and where this knowledge was achieved; preferred method of artificial respiration; most frequent reasons for marital quarrels and marital success; attitude to Denmark joining the EC with or without Great Britain joining at the same time; and attitude to having a referendum on Danish EC membership. # #Omnibus no. 09 (DDA-1267): #TV programmes; the Berlin Crisis; and expectations of 1963. # #Omnibus no. 10 (DDA-1268): #The Danish contribution in Greenland; what has Denmark neglected in Greenland; government intervention in the collective bargaining; attitudes to enforced arbitration, Bill of compromise passed by act or labour conflict; opponent or supporter of land tax; and attitude to land owner compensation in case of total land tax. # #Omnibus no. 11 (DDA-1269): #Party preference; first aid instruction; the risk of a new world war coming soon; assessment of the Government's performance; attitude to Denmark's membership of NATO; and possible correlation between nuclear tests and bad summer weather. # #Omnibus no. 12 (DDA-1270): #Government intervention by Bill of compromise passed by act or enforced arbitration; expectations of 1963 (economic prospects for society and for one's personal economy); attitude to automatic cost-of-living adjustment; attitude to Denmark joining the EC with or without Great Britain joining; and expected Christmas present expenditure
